The Catholic Church designates October as the Month of the Holy Rosary. During this month the faithful venerate the Blessed Virgin Mary especially under her title of Our Lady of the Rosary, and make special effort to honor the Holy Rosary with group recitations and rosary processions.

A Special Thanks...
Our Public Square Rosary—Saturday, October 16, was a beautiful day and we made a joyful noise as the Saturday traffic proceeded up and down Main Street! Thanks to all who helped in the planning and set up in any way! Special thanks to Father Aldrin, Deacon Gary and Doris
Rudemiller, Greg Rhineheimer, Juana Melendez, and Joan Risen who led us in all 20 decades of
the Rosary and other prayers. The beautiful music was provided by our faithful choir members—Amy Baillio, Pete Wdowiarz with his guitar, and Nellie Bingcang with her melodica. Father Aldrin added his wonderful singing voice for his first Public Rosary as he led us in the Salve Regina!
Paul Mazur was there to live-stream our service for the second year in a row and Francine Parsons and Lynn Jolly provided a great lunch for us after our service was over. John Lee and Billy Blair are always behind the scene to make sure the chairs were ready to be put up by our faithful parishioners and that our Public Square Rosary sign was in the yard to let people know what was going on.
Thanks, also, to Sharon Lacovitch, one of our faithful choir members, who always comes early to help get everything in place. And as always, we thank our founding leader of the PSR here at St. Luke’s--Betty Battaglia! Over ten years ago Betty kept asking our parish leaders to start the service here in Nicholasville. She and her late sister, Theresa Kenesky, truly believed the saying, “America needs Mary and the Rosary!” Thanks also, to Mark Stanley who was able to bring Betty’s Mary statue to Church for the celebration!
St. Luke’s is truly blest with wonderful people!
